⛔ To set up this feature, you'll need intermediate-level knowledge of DNS settings and options provided by your DNS provider. Specifically, you'll have to add new DNS records.
Keep in mind that the steps to configure DNS settings can vary greatly between web hosts, so our technical support is limited to explaining the changes required.
We recommend you seek assistance from your web host for guidance. If available, consider involving an IT technician or developer for further support.
You can use a domain alias to mask your app.meetalfred.com URL with your own domain name. By doing this, the login URL for you, your clients, and your team will change.
This exclusive capability is part of our White Label feature specifically supported for our Teams plan and can only be activated by an Account owner role.
To access the White Label feature, simply go to the settings page and click on the 'White Label' tab. From there, switch on the toggle button to enable White Label and start customizing your account.
⚠️ To enable this functionality, please contact our customer support team.
Getting Started
To set up a custom domain name with MeetAlfred, follow these steps:
Turn on White Label
Click on the 'Custom Domain' section.
Next, follow the instructions provided in the interface to configure the domain through your DNS provider.
Enter your desired custom domain name and click on 'Apply Custom Domain'.
Once you click the button, MeetAlfred will initiate the setup of a DNS record called a CNAME for your domain registrar or hosting provider records. This process usually takes around 20 seconds.
The generated records will include Host/Name, Target/Value, and TTL (Time to Live) information for the CNAME. You will need to verify these with your domain management system.
By following the steps above your additional accounts will be able to leverage MeetAlfred's automation features through the designated URL instead of accessing the account via meetalfred.com.
Set Up CNAME
To verify DNS records for your domain, follow these steps in your domain management system. Keep in mind that these instructions are specific to Godaddy, and your hosting provider may have different instructions:
Sign in to your GoDaddy account.
Select Edit domain options next to your domain and then Edit DNS. You may need to scroll down to see the Edit DNS option.
Select "Add Record" to add a new record.
Select CNAME from the Type menu options.
Copy the details for your new CNAME record generated from MeetAlfred and paste them in the corresponding fields: CNAME, HOST/NAME, TARGET/VALUE, and TTL.
To ensure proper copying and pasting of values from Alfred for domain management fields, make sure to:Check if the value includes ".custom.com".
If it does, note that the domain management system may automatically add it.
Remember to remove this ".custom.com" if present.
Select Add Record to save your new CNAME record.
Repeat these same steps to set up the records displayed for the second CNAME type row in your MeetAlfred account.
Allow 1 - 2 hours for these changes to take effect.
Please note that these instructions are general guidelines, and you may need to adapt them to your specific domain management system or hosting provider's interface. Always refer to the relevant support documentation provided by your domain registrar or hosting provider for accurate and up-to-date instructions.
⚠️Once you set up your custom domain, you will not be logged out of your existing MeetAlfred account. You can still access the Alfred app as usual. In order for your users to access the new interface, they simply need to log out of Alfred and log in using the new custom domain login page URL.
⚠️ Inviting new users will add them directly to the team while the White Label feature is enabled. Please note that you will not see the new users in the invite section.
⚠️ If the owner creates a new account under "Manage Team" while White Label is enabled, the invited user/account will receive an invitation email. This email will contain slightly different messaging compared to regular MeetAlfred users, including your custom domain link and password. The invited user can use these credentials to log in on the custom domain login page.
⚠️ If the white label feature is turned off, your users will not be able to log in on the custom domain. Instead, they will see a message on the page stating "Your app is deactivated."
Important Updates and Changes to Note
On the new domain, regular email integration will not be available. The only way to set it up will be through SMTP/IMAP.
The email integration set on the Alfred domain will be disconnected.
Social media post scheduling will still be available for LinkedIn. The rest of the options such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will be removed.
The "Referral" tab in Settings and the link in the burger menu will not be available.
The Help Center link will be removed from the user's burger menu.
