LinkedIn has made changes to how basic (free) users send invites, which affects how connection request messages are handled.

Meet Alfred has responded with improvements to make the connection process smoother. When these limits are detected, Meet Alfred will notify you through an app banner.

πŸš€βœ¨Pro Tip: Consider upgrading your LinkedIn membership to bypass character restrictions on connection request messages. Premium users have expanded message limits, allowing for more personalized outreach and streamlining your campaign strategy.

Connection Requests with Message Restriction:

Change: LinkedIn now restricts users from sending connection requests with messages.

✨ Improvement: To ensure your campaigns and connection requests outreach continue uninterrupted, Meet Alfred will automatically detect this limitation, and connection requests that are affected will be sent without a message.

  • To review connection requests sent without a message, navigate to your 'Campaigns' > 'Activity' page.

  • Look for the status "Invite Sent without Message."

  • Hover over the yellow dot next to "Invited," and a descriptive pop-up will indicate that the connection request was sent without a note.

Connection Request Message with Character Restriction

Change: LinkedIn has set a limit of 200 characters, including spaces and punctuation, for connection messages. It is important to keep your message concise and direct.

✨ Improvement: Meet Alfred will automatically detect connection request messages that exceed the 200-character limit. If a message is too long, the connection request will be postponed for 24 hours, allowing you time to edit your message.

  • To find connections requests that couldn't be sent, go to 'Campaigns' > 'Activity' and look for the status "Unable to send invites."

  • Hover over the yellow dot for a descriptive pop-up that will prompt you to edit your message to 200 characters or less.

How to Trim your Connection Request Messages for an Active campaign

  1. To trim your connection request message for an active campaign, go to your campaign view and click on the campaign you want to work with.

  2. Click on the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to edit your connection request message.

  3. Edit your connection request message. Ensure it is 200 characters or less, including spaces, personalization values/snippets, and punctuation.

  4. Once you're done, click on Save to apply the changes.

Meet Alfred will attempt to re-send the connection requests that were unable to be sent due to the character limit 24 hours later, ensuring your campaign runs smoothly.
